Interior Tekno Pub

200107 / Bratislava / Schoolworks

The pub is located on the first floor of a residential house on a corner of Vysoká and Živnostenská streets. Presently it is used as a sample room for the Rolldor products. When deciding about the function of the place the most determining role played the fact that according to my opinion in the city centre there is a lack of opportunities for good entertainment. My decision was al-so supported by the attractive posi-tion on the corner. The clearance of the interior space allowed me to add one floor over a part of the floor plan. On the first floor there is a vestibule, a visitors' toilets, bar storerooms and sitting places for 42 guests. The storerooms are relati-vely small as the bar will serve drinks only. Sitting area represents about one half of the guests' area. Later guests would dance and/or stand. The interior design makes the maximum use of the corner location so that any passers-by would understand the function of the place immediately. Close to the bar there is the DJ's floor in direct contact to the dancing area. 46 sitting places are located on the se-cond floor though here too standing guests are expected. Second floor visitors have good view over the first floor of the Pub.
The interior has been finished by wood, metal, glass and par-get. All materials are in their natural colours, wood is of sa-turated beech and a broad scale of metals can be seen from mat finished railing and steel cables between the columns to the brightly finis-hed bar. All walls are plastered by white-grey parget. For flooring mainly brightly finished ceramic was used, only the bridge is finished by sheet plates with diamond pattern. Under the added floor there is no ceiling therefore the supporting framework is visible. Electric wiring and air-conditioning pipes between the original headers are cove-red by latticed aluminium ceiling. The place is illumina-ted by halogenous lamps han-ging about 1 meter above the table desks.
